Wine and Dine

My best friend came to visit this weekend. It was mostly a staycation. We watched true crime shows, mostly about the NXYIUM cult (crazy), drank wine, and caught up. It was a perfect, low key girls weekend. The kids were are my parents. My husband was out of town. House to ourselves. Friday we went and had lunch at Grape Creek. We love their wines there. Saturday we stayed at the house and Sunday we went to one of my favorite places Sunset Grill in Fredericksburg. If you haven't been before for brunch just trust me and go. Best eggs benedict I have ever had. If you do go make sure to go to their website first and put your name on the wait list, because there will be a wait. After we went to Das Peach Haus and honestly I had not been there in quite some time. It is beautiful there. If you haven't been lately you need to. We skipped the food tasting since we had just ate, but they do have a weekend menu that looked and smelled amazing as well as lots of jams, sauces, dips and more you can taste and purchase. Fischer & Wieser also now has their own wine, which they just launched last year. The wine steward told me the Peach Moscato has been their biggest seller lately so that is what I got and it was so yummy. We grabbed a couple of glasses and headed outside. They have a small pond area with seating spread out around it. It was perfect. A cool breeze, great wine and great company. We talked, laughed, took pictures with silly filters, and just enjoyed the afternoon before she needed to head home. They also had some small little pumpkin photo ops with old tractors and trucks. I will definitely need to take my kids back out for some pumpkin pictures. Sometimes it is good to re-explore old places you haven't been to lately. They may surprise you.
