One of the new Texas laws taking effect Friday affects school curriculum. House Bill 1605 allows The Texas Education Agency to create standardized instructional materials rather than lesson plans written by the teacher. The bill would also allow parents to review the material taught to their child. It would also prevent teachers from being punished for violating the Establishment Clause which is religions based. But only if they were using T-E-A based material.
