Kerrville Tejano Roots Hall of Famer passes away according to the Daily Times. Alfredo Fritz Morquecho, a Kerrville resident passed away last Monday at the age of 89. Morquecho could play multiple instruments and performed at the Doyle Community Center many times. He also led Mariachi de Kerrville until health issues led to the group disbanding. He was inducted into the Tejano Roots Hall of Fame in Alice Texas in 2016. In 2023, Texas Governor Greg Abbott recognized Fritz and all of his accomplishments by declaring July 27th as 'Fritz Morquecho Day.' His funeral services are Monday at Notre Dame Catholic Church according to legacy.com.
