Ambulance thief gets 25 years according to the Kendall County Criminal District Attorney’s Office. Phillip Perez, 36 of Henderson Texas pleaded guilty to evading/detention in a motor vehicle. Perez stole an ambulance in November 2023 from the Metropolitan Methodist Hospital in San Antonio. The ambulance was the property of the San Antonio Fire Department. Perez led law enforcement from Bexar through Kendall and Kerr Counties on a high speed chase. He was eventually stopped with the use of spike strips in Kerr County. Perez was arrested and detained. At the time of the theft, he was on parole for Possession with Intent to Distribute.
