Section C, The Colored People’s Section of Der Stadt Friedhof in Fredericksburg is getting a historical marker. Der Stadt Friedhof became a State Historical Cemetery in the year 2000. Due to the nature of white and black people being buried in the same cemetery in the early 1900’s is unusual so it makes Section C eligible for a marker. The first recorded person of color buried in the cemetery is 1933. As reported in the Standard Radio Post.
