Planned rock crusher in Burnet County’s permit gets flagged by the LCRA. According to the Daily Tribune, there are several discrepancies in Austin-based Asphalt, Inc’s quarry permit. The company is planning a quarry close to the Longhorn Caverns State Park, Ink Lake, and Lake Buchanan and Camp Longhorn. The permit discrepancies include lack of stormwater containment plans and groundwater protection measures. Area residents are concerned about water supply contamination. The Lower Colorado River Authority permit comment period ends Friday. They have received 11 hundred comments according to KXAN.
