Boerne PD - K9 Chico dies

End of Watch for Chico. April 10. 2025. The Boerne Police Department lost the K-9 in the line of duty. K-9 Chico was killed on IH-10 after the locking mechanism on the patrol vehicle failed. Chico had just finished sniffing a vehicle on a traffic stop and gave a positive alert for narcotics. He was then returned to the patrol car. When the locking mechanism failed, he left the vehicle and ran towards the highway. The department request any contributions be made to the Boerne Police Foundation in memory of K-9 Chico.
