Boerne - Champion High School students returned from Thanksgiving week to learn hallway doors were removed from restrooms according to the Boerne Star. The doors were removed to combat vaping incidents. Some mirrors were also removed to eliminate lines of sight from the hallways. The stall doors remain. The decision was made by Champion’s leadership team. The school’s safety and security staff will continue to monitor the restrooms during instructional time. Possession of a vaping device is prohibited by state law for those under 21. Possession of use of e-cigarette devices is also prohibited in public schools by the Texas Education Code and also BISD’s Code of Conduct.
