Bandera County - Saddle Fire blaze

Writer: Aurora CantuAurora Cantu

On Friday afternoon, the Saddle Fire burned several Bandera County resident’s homes at Highway 173 and 3240 on Roundup Trail. Tires caught on fire and the fire spread through 17 acres and 11 structures. No word on what started the tires to burn. There was also a reported fire near a solar farm in Bandera. The Silver Sage Community Center of Bandera is needing monetary donations to help residents. They have plenty of clothing. The Red Cross gave the families 650 dollars each for hotel stays. Now, the Out of the Way Café in Lakehills is asking for RV’s to house the family, plus medical equipment as a few of the displaced residents have health issues. At least 10 fire departments and personnel responded to the fire.
