St. Mark Presbyterian Church, 208 W. Bandera Road, Boerne
Boerne – For many, the Christmas season can be a time of grief, loneliness, and great stress, rather than one of joy and good cheer. To offer peace and hope to those struggling with feelings like this, St. Mark Presbyterian Church is offering a Longest Night worship service at 6:30 pm on Sunday evening, December 17.
Longest Night services are held near the longest night of the year, which falls right in the midst of the Christmas holiday. St. Mark’s service will be in the sanctuary and will include quiet music, times of silence, scripture readings, prayer, and the opportunity for worshippers to light a candle in memory of a loved one.
“This service is a time to slow down, to recognize pain while also looking to the hope of faith and the light of Jesus,” said St. Mark Pastor Ann Marie Quigley-Swanson who will lead the service.
Anyone needing a ride or childcare can call the church office (830-816-3000) or email office@stmarktx.org. St. Mark is located at 208 W. Bandera Road, Boerne.
“All are welcome to this contemplative service as we look to the coming of our Savior,” Quigley-Swanson said.
