The one thing we all have in common is we depend on a Fire Department to keep us safe. Whether fire, storm, accident or simply educating future generations, the Medina Volunteer Fire Department stands ready to help. Now it’s time for us to help them – by attending their annual fundraiser this Saturday, November 2.
Held at the Hill Country RV Resort, the festivities begin at 2 pm with the infamous Washer Tournament. If dinner is more to your liking, serving begins at 5:00 pm and ends at 7:30. Of course, the Fire Department will have their traditional Smoked Brisket, homemade Axis & Pork Sausage and Baked Beans, but this year the community is pitching in with the food, too.
The Medina High School Homemaking Class is making the Potato Salad, Deer Creek Camp is providing Cole Slaw, and the Medina United Methodist Church is supplying a large variety of desserts. Dinner is only $9.
Raffle tickets at $20 each for an assortment of guns are going fast. At 6:30 there will also be a local merchant raffle with tickets only $1 each. The night’s entertainment will round out a great time with country singer Charlie Montague beginning at 8:00 pm. The dance is $10 a person or a combo ticket for dinner and the dance is only $18. BYOB is fine, also.
Remember, all proceeds from the event go to the Medina Volunteer Fire Department. Volunteers for the event are welcomed. If you have any questions, please call Wesley Zirkel at 210-373-0002. See you there!
