Kerrville Public Utility Board (KPUB) officials have received a report of a customer being defrauded over the telephone. The call occurred Saturday, June 29, 2013, at 2:45 pm, from a “private number.” The customer was told they were being called from “their utility company.” The caller said that the customer’s last two payments had not cleared and as a result, the customer’s electricity would be disconnected.
Generally, KPUB will contact customers during the work week: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Before a customer would be disconnected for non-payment, they would receive a notice in the mail. If you receive a suspicious phone call, please contact the Kerrville Police Department if you live in the city limits, or the Kerr County Sheriff’s Department if you live in the county.
You may also contact the KPUB Customer Service Department if you have any questions at 830-257-3050.
